Discover Belize Tropical Islands By Kayak
April 25 - May 2, 2009

Discover Belize kayaking with Seatrek and Michael Morgan based at the Oceanic Society's own Field Station at Turneffe Atoll, offering great kayaking and snorkeling.

Turneffe Atoll has the highest biodiversity in the entire Caribbean with a well-developed reef encircling the entire island chain. Kayakers stay at the Blackbird-Oceanic Field Station in comfortable double occupancy beachfront cabanas with private baths. Over 25 species of birds are found on Blackbird and the surrounding habitat serves as a feeding area for dolphins, manatees and sea turtles. Coral gardens are found in the protected waters within the atoll, all within easy paddling distance of the Field Station.  Snorkeling is superb..

No previous kayak experience is needed to participate. This adventure is designed to introduce the beginner to a great way of exploration as well as offer the challenges relished by skilled paddlers. The protected, shallow waters of Turneffe are an ideal area for our adventure.

Cost:  $1,950 (Includes boat transfer to the island, double kayaks, accommodations, meals, leadership)

Does not include:  airfare, airport transfers, alcoholic beverages, tips

Note:  Single kayaks can be arranged at an additional cost.
